MVPCC Institute Training

Please join MVPCC on Saturday May 13th for our upcoming Minneapolis Violence Prevention Community Champions (MVPCC) May Institute. This MVPCC Institute training focuses on promoting understanding of topics and gaining skills around how to be actively engaged in violence prevention in the community. All the material incorporates a lens of racial equity and the social determinants of health.

In this training we will cover topics such as the public health approach to violence intervention, adverse childhood experiences (ACES), and de-escalation and conflict resolution skills. More information on each of these topics can be found on the registration link that will be provided below.

You can register for the event using this form.

This training will be in-person on Saturday May 13th, 2023, and lunch will be provided. Please join us at the North Regional Library (1315 N Lowry, Minneapolis MN 55414). The institute will be from 10 AM to 3:30 PM.

Following the completion of the institute, participants will receive a certificate of completion, as well as other violence prevention resources. Finally, new champions will be invited to attend “spotlight trainings” on a bi-monthly to continue to build on skills gained in the institute.
